Simply Nourish Grain Free Dog Food

Simply Nourish Wet Dog Food Formulas

Simply Nourish Dog Food | Chewy

Simply Nourish also offers several varieties of wet canned food, with their shreds line as well as their pate line.

Generally, wet food tends to contain higher amounts of protein than kibble. Of course as a result, wet food tends to be more expensive per serving than dry kibble dog food.

Ideally, a mix of wet food and kibble is a great choice, providing a nice combination of nutrition and affordability.

Simply Nourish Small Breed Adult Chicken And Brown Rice

This is a type of dry dog food that is best for small breed adult dogs, although it would feed other types of dogs as well. Here is a list of the most common small dog breeds:

There are several ingredients in this recipe. Here they are:

Deboned chicken, chicken meal , brown rice, oatmeal, chicken fat , natural flavor, pea fiber, whole flaxseed, sunflower oil , potassium chloride, dried chicory root, dried carrots, dried kale, dried pumpkin, dried blueberries, salt, minerals , vitamins , choline chloride, dl-methionine, citric acid , mixed tocopherols , and rosemary extract.

Now, for the breakdown of Simply Nourish Small Breed Adult Chicken and Brown Rices nutritional content percentages:

  • Protein content stands at 28 percent
  • Fat content stands at 16 percent
  • Carbs content stands at 49 percent
  • Fiber content stands at 6.7 percent

This makes for a fat-to-protein ratio of about 47 percent, which is very good.

Alright, now lets take an in-depth look at each and every one of these ingredients in this adult dog food product, and how they affect your best friend:

  • Brown Rice: The third ingredient is brown rice. This is a complex carbohydrate that can be fairly easy to digest for dogs once it is cooked. It has a significant natural energy content, yet in terms of nutritional value, a brown rice recipe is not a very high source of nutrition for your dog.

About Simply Nourish Dog Food

From what we can tell, Simply Nourish debuted for Petsmart around 2011. Petsmart doesnt provide a web site for Simply Nourish or any background history on the brand. We didnt find any verifiable information about Simply Nourish or its history.

According to Petsmart, the first ingredient in their Simply Nourish recipes is carefully sourced meat, poultry, or fish. Other ingredients are ones that you will recognize such as fruits, vegetables, and whole grains.

They state that they dont use any artificial colors, flavors, preservatives, or fillers although fillers is always a somewhat subjective term in pet foods. Petsmart also emphasizes that Simply Nourish is natural, though this is a broad term according to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration use-term-natural-food-labeling.

We do need to mention that Petsmart and Simply Nourish are facing a class action lawsuit over their claims that their foods are natural. There have been a rash of these lawsuits against pet food companies recently on this subject.

Simply Nourish Limited Ingredient

Simply Nourish, Meal Toppers Dog Food

This limited ingredient line features single source animal proteins and no white potatoes to limit potential allergens.

These recipes feature a single animal protein source, so that you easily avoid problematic proteins. LIDs are also great for conducting elimination diets. In many traditional dog foods, you may have a mix of animal proteins, like turkey and chicken meal, or beef and salmon meal. However, Simply Nourish LID recipes feature just a single animal source .

Simply Nourishs LID line is also made without fillers, artificial flavors, colors or preservatives. It also cuts out white potatoes and chicken, and is even made with NON-GMO canola oil. Carbohydrates include peas and lentils, rather than potatoes.

Simply Nourish Grain Free

The Simply Nourish Grain Free dog food line is kibble thats made without grains. Instead, the formulas use peas and potatoes, which are healthier carbs for dogs. However, these recipes have lost their appeal since the FDAs report on the correlation between grain free dog food and dilated cardiomyopathy in dogs.

However, for dogs who must eat a grain free diet, there are some options available based on a dogs age, breed, and life stage:

  • Chicken with Peas & Potatoes Adult
  • Chicken with Peas & Potatoes Puppy
  • Chicken with Peas & Potatoes Large Breed Adult
  • Chicken with Peas & Potatoes Small Breed Adult

The main issue here is that theres a lack of variety when it comes to the proteins found in these formulas. But if your dog needs to go grain-free and loves chicken, then this might be a great option for him.

A Standing To Seek Injunctive Relief

“To establish Article III standing, a plaintiff must show an injury in fact, a sufficient causal connection between the injury and the conduct complained of, and a likelihood that the injury will be redressed by a favorable decision.” Knife Rights, Inc. v. Vance , 802 F.3d 377, 383 . “Plaintiffs seeking injunctive relief must also prove that the identified injury in fact presents a real and immediate threat of repeated injury.” Kreisler v. Second Ave. Diner Corp. , 731 F.3d 184, 187 . “The prospective-orientation of the analysis is critical: to maintain an action for injunctive relief, a plaintiff cannot rely on past injury … but must show a likelihood that he … will be injured in the future.” Berni v. Barilla S.p.A. , 964 F.3d 141, 147 . “Although past injuries may provide a basis to seek money damages, they do not confer standing to seek injunctive relief unless the plaintiff can demonstrate that she is likely to be harmed again in the future in a similar way.” Nicosia v. Amazon.com, Inc. , 834 F.3d 220, 239 .

Plaintiff’s reliance on out-of-Circuit precedent to support her request for injunctive relief is unpersuasive. This Court is bound to apply Second Circuit precedent. SeeJ & J Sports Prod., Inc. v. Leon , No. 18-cv-2103 , 2019 WL 1320277, at *6 ).

Is Simply Nourish Dog Food Worth It

Yes, Simply Nourish Dog Food is worth it.

Simply Nourish is designed to meet the needs of all dogs, no matter the size or breed. The protein sources are high-quality, and the carbohydrates are low.

This is good for dogs who have sensitive stomachs or allergies. Its also suitable for older dogs or those who need a weight-loss food formula. Plus, the recipes are available at an affordable price.

Simply Nourish Source Grain Free Salmon:

Petsmart Simply Nourish Adult Dog Food Chicken & Brown Rice Review

Simply Nourish knows that there are some dogs that are unable to process certain types of grains. So they decided to make a grain-free product line specifically for them. This is one of their products, the Simply Nourish Source Grain Free Salmon. It is also part of their Source product line, which focuses on a more limited diet that is high in protein, for dogs on a diet or with their own dietary restrictions.

This product features salmon, salmon meal, chicken meal, and dried peas. It contains a whopping 34 percent crude protein which is incredibly high but only useful as long as they maintain a balanced diet and do a lot of exercise. According to the Association of American Feed Control Officials, adult dogs require a minimum of 18 to 26 percent protein in their diet so for a product to contain 34 percent is incredible.

It is, however, not a very good thing that Simply Nourish has added chicken meal to this recipe, not because the chicken meal is an unhealthy ingredient, which it absolutely is not, but because it is not advertised in the name of the product. There is a possibility that your pup has a chicken allergy, and the fact that it is not advertised where people can see, it could cause a problem and an urgent visit to the vet. It is likely that the chicken meal is added as a cheaper addition than the salmon meal, so that it can reach its high protein content for a cheaper price. This is not uncommon to be found in protein alternatives like fish, lamb, and venison.

  • Simply Nourish Limited Ingredient Salmon And Sweet Potato:

    • Real deboned salmon as the first ingredient
    • No potatoes, grains or chicken
    • 4lb. bag available

As we mentioned a few sections before, the Simply Nourish Limited Ingredient diet line is intended for dogs with food allergies or food intolerances that might not be able to eat regular dog food. The Simply Nourish Limited Ingredient Salmon & Sweet Potato Recipe is not only made with healthy and natural ingredients, but it is also supplemented with added vitamins and minerals to help where these ingredients might be lacking.

It contains only one source of protein, the salmon , in order to make sure your pet can digest it just fine. It features absolutely no fillers, colors, or preservatives. The salmon is meant to help your dog develop lean muscles and a healthy heart whilst also aiding digestion. Sweet potatoes are also a great and easily digestible way of getting good carbohydrates into your dogs system.

The only issue with this product is that it features canola oil, which is not the healthiest of oils, but that is undoubtedly a neglectful risk. It also features tomato pomace, a tomato by-product which is a somewhat controversial ingredient, yet most people agree it is harmless. This product has a very high protein and fiber content. This great dog food contains around 25% protein and 7.5% fiber. However, it is important to know whether your dog is able to handle that level of protein, as some dogs can develop kidney issues from a high protein diet.

What Is Simply Nourish Dog Food And How Does It Work

Simply Nourish is a dog food that was created from the concept of a back-to-basics approach to nutrition for dogs. The idea behind this food was to create a dog food that was planned to be carefully sourced, absolutely wholesome, and made with real ingredients.Simply Nourish wanted to make a food thats completely free of chemical compounds, and to eliminate all the fillers that so many companies use. That means Simply Nourish never uses soy, corn, wheat, or artificial colorings used in their dog food choices.

    What Is Simply Nourish

    Simply Nourish⢠Adult Dog Food

This is a very versatile brand of pet food, including both cat food and dog food, and has products that specialize in foods for multiple ages, breeds, conditions, and goals. Since 2011, the product has been exclusively sold by PetSmart in their primary markets of the United States and Canada, as well as a relatively new market in Puerto Rico.

The idea behind Simply Nourish is to provide a simple way for customers to understand what is inside their food. This means that formulae are relatively simple, relying mostly on high-quality proteins, while keeping both the dry kibble and the wet canned food grain free and with as little meat by-products as possible.

Additionally, almost all Simply Nourish products contain essential oils, with some having more luxurious ingredients such as olive oil or even coconut oil. Having these additional substances ensured the health and well-being of the canine, as well as better digestion.

B Standing As To Unpurchased Products

Defendants further argue that plaintiff lacks standing to bring a class action with respect to the Products she did not purchase. Specifically, defendants contend that plaintiff’s complaint “challenges 99 varieties of Simply Nourish products” but does not indicate which Product plaintiff purchased. In response, plaintiff contends that she has standing to challenge any unpurchased Products because the “natural” labeling of such unpurchased Products are substantially similar to that of the Products she did purchase. see also Compl. ¶ 68

Here, to the extent class standing must be addressed at this stage, the Products are sufficiently similar to support plaintiff’s class standing at this time. Specifically, the “nature and content of the specific misrepresentation alleged,” NECAIBEW Health & Welfare Fund , 693 F.3d at 162, is similar because the Products were all sold and marketed by defendants and possessed the same allegedly deceptive representation that the underlying ingredients were “natural.” see, e.g. , Suarez v. Advantages Of Simply Nourish

Simply Nourish uses high-quality ingredients and lists real meat proteins as their first ingredients, which is a core component of good dog food.

The inclusion of whole fruits and vegetables, plus the lack of color dyes and additives, gets a big thumbs up. Simply Nourish makes big claims saying that they provide healthy, nutritious dog food with only real, authentic ingredients. I think they live up to these standards quite well.

Simply Nourish also comes from a trusted manufacturer based in the US, which is always a plus. This tends to be a brand thats popular with fans of PetSmart.

We also love that Simply Nourish has such a variety of formulas from large breed to limited ingredient, they have something for any and every pooch.

    Vegan Sweet Potato Dog Chews

Rachael Ray Nutrish vs Simply Nourish Dog food review

Treat your pup to 1-ingredient sweet potato treats made with sliced sweet potato slow baked at low heat for a delicious homemade dog treat.

Back when I lived with Harper I used to spoil her with store-bought sweet potato dog chews that I brought home after shopping at Moms Organic Market.

I loved getting them because they had only one ingredient listed on the back: sweet potato!

The treats were crispy, dried, and faintly sweet smelling.

I never tried one, but I always imagined that Harper appreciated the minimal ingredients as much as her mom did.

Harper only knew ONE speed when it came to eating, and that was *fast*.

So, naturally, she devoured these sweet potato chews way faster than my shopping trips could keep up with.

I vowed to make a homemade version for her and Im finally delivering!

These Vegan Sweet Potato Dog Chews are made with just sweet potatoes sliced and slow-baked to chewy perfection.

This recipe requires only one ingredient: sweet potatoes!

Larger sweet potatoes are best for this recipe as the slices shrink down as they bake.

First, wash and scrub the sweet potatoes and slice off the ends.

Slice each potato into 1/3-inch slices lengthwise using a sharp knife or mandolin slicer.

Arrange the sweet potato slices on a parchment lined baking sheet so none of them are touching.

Dont be alarmed by the looooong bake time on this recipe.

Once the sweet potatoes are sliced and baking you can go about your day without worry!

They continue to harden as they cool!

    Bad Ingredients:

    Canola Oil, Tomato Pomace

Most high-quality dog foods you find will never contain canola oil because it sometimes contains something called rapeseed oil which is toxic and leads to nervous system issues, immune disorders, and even blindness. The best all-natural dog foods will use fish oil instead of canola. This is not something to overthink though because it is a small issue.

The next issue is tomatoes pomace which youll find a lot in cheaper dog foods, and its highly frowned upon as an unnecessary filler. Its the tomato leftovers when companies process soups, ketchup, and juices. It wont hurt your pet, but its not providing any nutritional value as the sixth ingredient.
