Many of the Purina Beyond recipes are fairly simple and do not include many ingredients. Often, they only contain a few sources of animal protein followed by a few veggies.

As a grain-free food, this brand seems to focus largely on the use of veggies but this doesnt necessarily mean that it includes more animal meat than other brands.

All formulas we looked at contain whole meat as the first ingredient, with the exact kind used varying from recipe to recipe. Fresh chicken and beef are rather common, but they also have rarer options, like lamb and salmon.

Some of these less common options are perfect for dogs with food allergies, as they are less likely to cause a reaction.
