Taste Of The Wild Guaranteed Analysis

Whatever the flavor this dog food producer has decided to give each of the products, a responsible pet owner is concerned about the nutritional value. Since your dog cannot always know whats good for him or her and is guided by the smell, taste, and some subconscious signals, its vital that you take care of your friend getting other healthy substances during mealtime or as snacks.

Fortunately, this company has no problems maintaining good levels of useful substances in all their foods. Theres a guaranteed analysis that comes with every food and can be checked beforehand on their official website. It lets you know the limits for things like protein, fat, moisture, fiber, zinc, Omega fatty acids, and other essential stuff. While those numbers may slightly differ for different tastes, they always meet the dog food nutrient profiles set by the Association of American Feed Control Officials.

Now, as many people exclude gluten from their own diets, they would like to have the same opportunity for their pets. Thats when grain-free foods come in, but dogs still need to get their carbohydrates somehow. So, TOTW uses other products instead, such as potatoes, sweet potatoes, peas, or pea flour. That way, its guaranteed that pups will still get the energy even with this exclusion.

Yes, there has been a single Taste of the Wild recall, several years ago and it was a big one.

In May 2012, thousands of units of Taste of the Wild were recalled because of positive tests for salmonella. Dozens of people and untold numbers of pets were sickened during a multi-state salmonella outbreak caused by various brands of contaminated pet food, all of which was manufactured by Diamond Pet Foods in one of its facilities.

2019 Heart Disease Investigation

We also want to alert readers to the fact that, in late , the U.S. Food and Drug Administration identified Taste of the Wild as one of 16 pet food brands that may be linked to heart disease in dogs and cats. None of those 16 brands have been recalled as part of the agencys ongoing investigation, though. Most, but not all, of the pet foods are grain-free and/or dry dog food formulations.

The FDA says this is a complex scientific issue that may involve multiple factors, and that it cannot even be certain that diet is a cause of the heart problems.

Although this recipe provides less protein, about 25% against 32% found in other dry dog food, your doggy may still prefer this one to others. Its also a good nutritional solution for dogs with allergies to other common meat options.

Taste Of The Wild Ancient Grains

Taste of the Wild High Prairie Grain Free Dry Dog Food, 30 lb bag

The Ancient Grains product line features grain-inclusive recipes for dogs without grain sensitivities. Most dog foods use common allergens like corn and wheat as grain-based ingredients. But these recipes feature ancient grains instead.

Ancient grains like millet, sorghum, and quinoa provide a healthy source of concentrated carbohydrates. Some dogs with high metabolisms or blood sugar concerns need constant sources of digestible carbohydrates from their diet.

Compared to refined grains, ancient grains are much higher in fiber and nutrients. But even the grain-inclusive recipes from Taste of the Wild are still high protein.

This product range still uses the same high-quality, diverse animal proteins as other lines. All Taste of the Wild formulas depend on meat as the primary ingredient.
