First of all my dogs has been eating iams since he was a puppy and seems to enjoy his food. When We received our order from chewy the bag looked different. Unlike the black bag u advertise on the site and the one I buy at the pet store this bag was a different color brown and green. I also noticed that the kibble was in different shapes. Does not look like the Iams I have been using for years. Why the difference. Is this a generic form of Iams. Would love to hear from you. Thank you.

Who Is Paul Iams
Paul Iams was a businessman and a self-taught animal nutritionist who founded the IAMS food company in 1946. During the Great Depression, he worked with his father as a dog food salesman in a grain company. In his experience working with his father, he realized dog owners will keep paying for pet foods even during the worst worldwide economic regression.
When he left his current work, he worked next selling soap for Procter & Gamble, then soon after joined the Navy during World War II and left after four years of serving. Later on, the IAMS food company was started in 1946 by Paul Iams to produce premium quality dog foods with higher protein content.
The first product ever made by IAMS dog food came out in the 1950s, and it was known as IAMS 999. IAMS 999 was the first dog food where they chose to use animal-based protein as its main source of protein. It set the standards for modern dog food formulas we see on the pet store shelves today.
The brand kept advancing and renovating itself throughout the 1960s when more attention was paid to making the dog food as digestible as possible by focusing on intestinal health. The paw print logo we now know to associate with IAMS was first presented to the public in the 1970s, and it still remains the same today. IAMS pet food reviews werent really a thing back in those days, but IAMS dog food ratings would have most likely been high if it had.

They also use some questionable ingredients that we just wont feed our fur babies, namely the corn and the chicken by-products, which seem to make up a large portion of all of their recipes.

Premium Dog Food Mislabeled
On September 16, 2019 we filed a complaint against Mars Petcare Us, Inc. the designer, manufacturer and distributor of IAMS Proactive Health Sensitive Skin & Stomach Grain-Free Recipe with Chicken & Peas. In the complaint, Plaintiffs allege they purchased the IAMS Premium Dog Food that contained non-conforming ingredients in violation of the express warranty, implied warranties, and a violation of various consumer fraud statutes.
On November 20, 2020, Judge Waverly Crenshaw Jr. issued an order on Defendants Motion to Dismiss that left intact an express warranty claim, a consumer fraud claim, an implied warranty of merchantability claim, a Magnusson Moss warranty claim, and an unjust enrichment claim.
