They pledged to produce their products under the strictest regulations, and they worked closely with the USDA National Organic Program to become the only Organic certified manufacturer of both wet and dry dog food in the world. The popularity of their products increased and they solidified a diehard group of followers.
Like most worldwide conglomerations, Nestle Purina hasnt built the best name for itself in the pet care world. What makes them rank so poorly? Poor ingredients, lax production protocol, and multiple recalls certainly dont help. Nestl Purina Petcares New Factory Location
The new pet food factory will be situated in South Afton Industrial Park, a 242-acre business park located in Clermont County, Williamsburg Township. It will be the companys first new facility built from the ground up since 1975 and will join the companys network of 21 existing manufacturing locations across the US.

Well, if youre looking for premium dog food with high-quality ingredients, you wont like Purina ALPO Prime Cuts. The first ingredient is not real meat, but Yellow Corn.
Moreover, there is virtually no real meat in this recipe. The main protein sources are Meat And Bone Meal, Soybean Meal, and Corn Gluten Meal.
I hope I dont have to say how unhealthy this is for dogs. Animal sources are not named, so their quality is uncontrollable. And plant protein sources are biologically low in value for dogs.
The protein content of the product is 18%, which meets the requirements of AAFCO; however, I do not really recommend this product due to the quality of the proteins.
In addition, artificial colors can be found among the ingredients. Although these are allowed, I still believe that these compounds are disadvantageous in the diet of dogs.
The overall picture is somewhat improved by the fact that the recipe contains added vitamins and minerals. This balances the nutrients somewhat.

But anyhow it is a crying shame how these big companies take over and not to mention that all the money they have, they could certainly afford the best quality. However, they wont buy the best. Furthermore, these poor small companies give the best quality and they dont even have a small portion of money that these big ones have. What a SHAME! Purina deserves Champion.The class action lawsuit against Champion Pet Food has been amended in a concerning way. The lawsuit now includes risk of inclusion in their pet food of pentobarbital
The clue to this concerning change in the Champion Pet Food lawsuit was this statement:
It was recently revealed on information and belief that Defendants were knowingly, recklessly and/or negligently selling certain of the Contaminated Dog Foods from the DogStar Kitchens containing pentobarbital, a substance largely used to euthanize animals.
