Barleys First Weeks And Puppy Training Treats
Its hard to believe, but its been nearly three months since we brought Barley home. Shes made a lot of progress since then, the most obvious example of which is the fact that she is now completely house trained.
It took about 5 weeks for her to learn to only go to the bathroom outside, and weve gotten to the point where when she needs to go to the bathroom, shell go up to the front door, ring a bell that hangs on the doorknob, and sit down to wait for one of us to take her out.

Those first few weeks, however, were a bit difficult. Shed whine in the crate at night, have to go outside every hour and a half, and had more than her fair share of accidents indoors. But with a regular schedule and a fair amount of homemade treats , shes doin pretty well so far .
Here are some of the things we did to get her to this point. We know that theres a lot of debate among trainers, dog owners, etc. about training techniques. As a bit of a disclaimer for this post, its important to remember that every dog is different and that these are just the experiences of one harried family! A dogs individual personality, age, and temperament all play a big part in figuring out effective training methods, but hopefully you can get some insight or at least some much needed empathy from this post!

Brown sold the company to Bain & Associates, who retained it for 2 years before selling to Mars Inc. in 2007. The acquisition was part of a large-scale expansion in which Mars Inc. became a world leader in pet products.

Nutro vs. Iams
In the early 2000s, Nutro started taking a hard look at one of its competitors, Iams, after Iams made a series of changes to lower its prices. Iams had reformulated certain recipes and, most concerning, reduced the serving size of its dog food by 25%.
Nutro claimed it had commissioned several independent studies to investigate Iams formula changes and that the dogs in these studies lost so much weight, and so quickly, that the studies had to be halted early.
Iams broke ranks, said Nutro Products President Jerry Sicherman. The entire pet food industry has relied on scientific findings to establish their feeding instructions for years.
In response, Iams filed a lawsuit against Nutro, claiming it had made false and misleading statements. Nutro sued, too, claiming Iams was making false and misleading advertising claims. In March 2001, a consumer class-action lawsuit was filed against Iams after dogs allegedly starting losing weight.
What Is The Process For Testing Your Ingredients For Gmos
We test our ingredients using a third-party testing facility. For testing, we take random samples from our manufacturing sites and send all samples to our third-party laboratory. The lab then tests for GMOs.
