Sunshine Mills, Inc issued the recall for Natures Promise Chicken and Brown Rice dog foods due to the possibility it may contain excess vitamin D, which can cause renal failure, a press release from Giant Food Stores, LLC said.

- Natures Promise Chicken and Brown Rice dog food, 4 pounds, with best buy dates of Nov. 1, 2018 through Nov. 8, 2019
- Natures Promise Chicken and Brown Rice dog food, 14 pounds with best by dates of Nov. 1, 2018 through Nov. 8, 2019.
- Natures Promise Chicken and Brown Rice dog food, 23 pounds, with best by dates of Nov. 1, 2018 though Nov. 8, 2019.
All affected products were removed from shelves and customers are encouraged to return the product to their local store for a full refund. To date, Giant and Martins have not received reports of illness, but encourages customers to stop feeding dogs the products.
