• Grandma Lucy’s is NOT raw before freeze drying. I contacted the company in January 2019 with this question and this was the response Hi, were so happy to hear that your pups are enjoying their Grandma Lucys! Our meats are lightly blanched to get rid of any food borne bacteria. The temperatures ra…morenge depending on the meat, but are in the range of 170 to 200 degrees. The vegetables are fully cooked at different temperatures depending on the vegetable. This is done because most vegetables need to be fully cooked to be properly digested by dogs. Cooking vegetables breaks down the cellulose, which makes it more nutritionally available for dogs. We hope this helps!
