Chicken And Kibble Cupcakes
Chicken and Kibble Cupcakes are an easy treat that uses dry dog food, adds some chicken and broth, and produces a tasty treat!
Youll notice that my ingredients photo has no eggsand only 1 cup of chicken broth.
After a little trial and error , I decided this was the best ingredients list.
You might not need 1-1/2 cups of chicken broth if your chicken isnt very dry but I found that I couldnt get the ingredients mixed without that extra half cup.
To make these very simple cupcakes, first grind the kibble. I used the blender, grinding just a cup of dog food at a time.
Once the kibble is crushed , pour all the dry ingredients in a large bowl. Next, put the chicken and the chicken broth in the blender and mix.
Add the chicken and chicken broth mixture to the dry ingredients and mix. The mix is heavy you wont be able to pour it in the cupcake pans.
I used three mini-cupcake pans for this recipe . Grease the cupcake pans and preheat your oven to 350 degrees.
Using a teaspoon, scoop a large spoonful of mixture into your hands, compressing and shaping it like you would to make meatballs. Drop the meatball into the cupcake tray, slightly press it into position, and repeat until youre done.
Pop the cupcakes in the top tray of your oven and bake for 20 minutes. Allow the treats to cool completely before you either serve some to your dog or you refrigerate . Our dogs loved these!!

Blue Buffalo Wilderness Salmon Recipe For Adult Dogs
This high-protein recipe from Blue Buffalo Wilderness is for the more active dogs in the house. I think Pitbulls and Huskies could do well on this food.
The meat protein comes mainly from salmon, so it goes without saying that its one for dogs who enjoy fishy flavors. Chicken meal is the second ingredient, so if you are looking for a purely fish recipe, this isnt the one. This is a grain-free recipe, so its a good choice for dogs allergic to grains.
The omega-3 content is high here , so its a great choice for long-coated dogs. Omega-3 also has anti-inflammatory properties, so for dogs with itchy, sore skin, this food can have a soothing effect.
Finally, as with the previous recipes, there is some glucosamine here, which makes it a good option for dogs prone to joint diseases.
Blue Buffalo Warnings & Lawsuits
Before we detail the recall history for Blue Buffalo, we first want to alert readers to the fact that, in late , the U.S. Food and Drug Administration identified Blue Buffalo as one of 16 pet food brands that may be linked to heart disease in dogs and cats.
None of those 16 brands have been recalled as part of the agencys ongoing investigation, though. Most, but not all, of the pet foods are grain-free and/or dry dog food formulations.
The FDA says this is a complex scientific issue that may involve multiple factors, and that it cannot even be certain that diet is a cause of the heart problems. For full details, see our article on the subject.
We also want to point out that despite rumors, there has been no so-called Blue Buffalo lead recall. A lawsuit filed in claimed that 3 Blue Buffalo dog foods contained very high levels of lead, but the lawsuit was dismissed by a judge in 2018.
